Gourmet Pizza with a Rock ‘n Roll Flare

*** Disclaimer: We are from Downtown Chicago, so we KNOW great pizza ***

When you move from the place with your favorite food, the very notion of not being able to have it on-demand gives me the shakes.  With Chicago being known for its thin crust and deep dish pizza, I was VERY nervous we would only have it on the holidays when we visited Chicago.  Then…. a miracle happened.  Friends we made in our Scuba Diving Class recommend LowBrow Pizza.  This place is INCREDIBLE!

It is not your typical “Cheese and Pepperoni” establishment.  Actually, you get made fun of for ordering something so simple.  These are gourmet, artisan pizzas and they are always experimenting with new combinations.

Matt ate The Porker which was topped with bbq pork, pork belly, pineapple, jalapeno, pickled red onion, and cotija.  Megan had the Pepper-Bro-Ni which was topped with smoked brisket, pepperoni, ricotta garlic shrooms, and charred onion.  Gabriella, who introduced us to this magnificent place, had the Cortez the Killer which was topped with chorizo roasted potato, sweet corn-crème Fraiche scallion, lime mayo, cilantro, cotija, and chilies.  All 3 were DELICIOUS!

Do not let the décor and vibe fool you; this is not a discount pizza joint.  The pizzas are about $15 each so keep that in mind.  They are worth every penny though.
