GIVEAWAY: Dinner for Two at The Local + What to Order!
If you have been following for a while now, you may recall that we were invited to The Local last year to review their menu so we were SO excited when they invited us back and wanted to do a giveaway for a dinner for two!
Why We Love The Local
The Local serves a curated yet ever changing farm to table menu based on what is delivered to the restaurant day to day. Chef Jeff, owner and Executive Chef of The Local, works closely with local ranchers, farmers, sea mongers, and artisans to serve fresh and creative dishes that cater to everyone from the meat lover to the adventurous vegan. In addition to sourcing local, Chef Jeff and his team also make many of the menu’s ingredients in house including many of the sauces, dressings, soups, cheeses, and even meats! Every visit, we trust our waiter/waitress to choose our order, and they always chose the most perfect and delicious spread!
What to Order
While the menu is constantly changing, there are constant dishes that are a must to order on your next visit!
- Grilled Peach and Pistachio Salad (could be an entrée)
- Spicy Bacon and Egg Sandwich (great for lunch or brunch)
- Kung Pao Avocado (great appetizer or entrée)
- Pork Ragu, Gnocchi, Ricotta (the gnocchi is AMAZING)
We also had one of that evening’s special (Triggerfish) which we were told would be going on the permanent menu in the near future. The fish was fried and featured a pomegranate component which brought in a level of sweetness that was so creative and paired well with the lightness of the fish! Highly recommend!
Liquor-Less Cocktails
While The Local does not serve liquor, that doesn’t stop them from serving up delicious liquor-like cocktails with fermented wine as the base. Matt and I were so intrigued that we had to give them a try and even Matt, an avid bourbon and whiskey fan, was astounded at how close the smell and taste was to the real thing!
